Peter Facinelli has officially become a triple threat in Hollywood.
According to reports, he’s written, will star in, and will also produce a film called El Chico Blanco this June. The description for the storyline is as follows:
El Chico Blanco tells the story of Ben Harper, a white outcast raised in the barrio, who ascends to a position of power against all odds. During a stint in prison, Harper overcomes racial tension and bias to become the head of a notorious crime family, entering into a world of drugs, wealth, and power.
The film will be directed by Carl Franklin (Out Of Time), and Facinelli has expressed his excitement about tackling the project with him.
“Carl’s vision is perfectly in keeping with my script and I look forward to filming this as soon as I wrap on Breaking Dawn.”
According to another source, the shooting location for the project will be in New Mexico.
This is not the first instance of Facinelli wearing three different hats for a film. Last summer, he filmed Loosies, a movie he wrote, produced, and starred in about a pickpocket who has to grow up thanks to exigent circumstances (namely, sudden fatherhood). He also penned the script for Accidentally In Love (starring Facinelli’s wife Jennie Garth and debuting on The Hallmark Channel on February 12th at 9:00 p.m. EST), and served as a producer on that project as well.
Both were done under the shingle of Facinelli Films, a production company established by himself and friend Rob DeFranco.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 are both being shot in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the moment.
In addition to El Chico Blanco, Facinelli is also attached to Paz and The Absinthe Drinkers, and, of course, the third season of Nurse Jackie will likely premier later this year. As always, Peter Facinelli is keeping himself busy this year.
